Believing Together, Achieving Together
As a school, we define spirituality as being aware of something 'bigger' and outside of ourselves. Our school motto 'Believing Together, Achieving Together' helps our children and adults to think about and answer those big questions about what makes us who we are and to make sense of the awe and wonder of the world around us. For us, spirituality is an ongoing, reflective journey of personal growth as we endeavour to flourish in the fullness of life.
Collective worship at Bishop Hooper school is invitational, inclusive and inspirational. We plan our yearly cycle of worship in line with our monthly Christian values and the church calendar.
Leading collective worship is a precious shared responsibility.
Our weekly worship timetable:
Monday - Reverend Lynn Money or Mrs Gittins, our Head teacher
Tuesday - Joe Whitfield from the Checkpoint Christian charity or Songs and Praise led by Mrs Gittins
Wednesday - Open the Book (every other week), or one of our three Faith Council worship leader pupil groups, or Governors or school staff
Thursday - Class based worship using worship resources from Hereford Diocese
Friday - Celebration worship led by Mrs Gittins
Special celebrations such as Harvest, Advent, Easter and end of term services are led my our Head teacher, Mrs Gittins, often with Reverend Money also.
There is an open invitation for all parents, carers and family and friends to attend any of our collective worship days or events. Information on times and dates and leaders can be found on our website calendar and our weekly newsletter.
Congratulations to our Faith Council members for meeting the criteria for their Bronze Worship Leader Awards. Very well deserved! (June 2024)
